Dr. John McB. Hodgson, MD, MSCAI
Dr. John McB. Hodgson is an internationally acclaimed cardiologist who is a tenured Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He also provides interventional cardiology services to rural hospitals in the mid-America region. He is an honors graduate of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH. His post graduate training was completed at the University of Michigan and Brown University. Dr. John McB. Hodgson holds board certifications in three specialties: Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology.
Since finishing his training, he has devoted his academic career to training the next generation of physicians. He has served in many administrative positions and has assisted in developing four Cardiology Departments. He has been the Chairman of Cardiology at Geisinger Health Systems (Danville, PA). He is a past president of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, and was awarded Master status by the Society (MSCAI).
Dr. John McB. Hodgson has been active in both basic and clinical research, particularly in coronary physiology and atherosclerosis. He assisted in the development of intravascular ultrasound starting in 1985. He has lectured extensively worldwide, published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, eight books or book chapters and holds two patents. He has developed novel CD and Web-based physician training tools and won the international Adobe Macromedia Max Award for best educational software on two occasions.
Dr. Hodgson remains actively engaged in the issues surrounding the practice of medicine with a current focus on appropriate use of procedures, new paradigm implementation, physician education, and novel healthcare system solutions.

In his new book, Healing the System, Hodgson suggests easy-to-implement changes that healthcare providers and administrators can make to combat the increasingly dysfunctional environment typical of current practice. These changes can bring a sense of fulfillment, joy, and satisfaction back to the practice of medicine.
Dr. John McB. Hodgson and his wife, Dinah, have been married for over four decades. They reside in Moreland Hills, Ohio. They have three children and five grandchildren that they are deeply devoted to. Dr. Hodgson and Mrs. Hodgson have shared their time and talents on missions trips around the globe.
